Leading with the Heart - Meet MVMS Principal Lesli Solis Leading with the Heart - Medina Valley Middle School Principal Lesli Solis Show Transcript growing up I was the oldest of 3 we used to play school all the time and I was always the teacher then as I got into college and whatnot that was something I knew I wanted to do I had a passion for Math and I love teach math and then as I got into it I wanted to do elementary to begin with when I first got out all the calls were Middle School I was like all right I'll try it and then I ended up loving it what I loved about it most was though is every year open house parents would come in oh I sure help you help my kid because you know I'm no good at math and they're not any good at math and nobody likes math and then by the end of the year you know they were talking about how they liked it how they they enjoyed it so my goal at the end of the year was always do I need to teach them the math concepts yes but I need to teach them to be able to problem solve more than anything using those math concepts growing up in Lidle Medina Valley was just up the road very respected Community good reputation with academics Athletics and everything and I wanted to be a part of that I wanted to be a part of something that was going to constantly push themselves to the limits but always look into get better always looking for improvement and I think 1 thing that has helped me is just being consistent my dad always pushed us and and told us if we do something you're going to do your best and you always put a 110% into it and once you start it you finish it I am here because I'm trying to help your kid be successful if if I could be out there every day giving them fist pumps going into the classrooms checking on them you know every minute of the day that's probably the best part I'm All About Kids I want to see them be the best they can be
